Dear Neighbor:

The purpose of this letter is to invite you to an informal Open House and Public Information Session about the building removal work to be conducted this year at the former Texaco Beacon Research Center located in Fishkill, NY.

The meeting will be held at the Slater Chemical Fire Company located at 76 Old Glenham Road, on Tuesday, May 24, from 5:30 p.m. — 8:00 p.m. Interested parties are invited to review materials and ask questions of our team members any time during the 2½ hour session.

Chevron reported in a letter to you earlier this year that it was actively searching for a qualified contractor to perform the building removal process. We are pleased to announce that we have selected Brandenburg Industrial Service Company as the contractor. Work will start the week of May 9 and continue to the end of the year.

For those unable to attend the meeting, Chevron has a local on-site representative that people can call if they have questions about the work. The local company contact is Mike Lawler. Mike is on site five days a week during business hours and can assist with day-to-day questions. And if he doesn’t have the answer, he can direct you to someone who can get the information. Mike’s direct line is (845) 440-0037.

Chevron is committed to conducting all work with adherence to the highest standards of health and safety for those conducting the work on-site and our neighbors off-site. We intend to complete the building removal project in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. This means maximizing opportunities to recover and re-use building materials and equipment and minimizing off-site disposal of waste materials.

As a reminder, Chevron has established a website (www.glenhammills.com) to keep interested parties apprised of our progress and specific developments as they occur. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at (713) 432-2634 or by e-mail.

Sincerely,

Mark Hendrickson
Project Manager, Chevron
