Below is a summary of activities during the month of April related to the former Texaco Beacon Research Facility.
Chevron continues to work on elements of the three draft Feasibility Studies (FSs) and are awaiting comments from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). In April Chevron completed a semi-annual groundwater sampling event.
Real Estate Update
There is no real estate update.
In the month of April, Chevron delivered donations to several local non-profit organizations that support the community. The Glenham Fire District shared how past contributions helped with the purchase of fire fighter personal protective equipment, and explained this year’s donation will go towards the purchase of Automated External Defibrillators (AED). Chevron partnered with Dutchess County Community Action Agency’s food pantry to prepare food orders for families in need, coupled with a visit to the Dress for Success boutique.
A donation was delivered to the Blodgett Memorial Library where the former Texaco Research Center historical documents can be found. While filming in the Hudson Valley area, the crew for the series Pretty Little Liars: Summer School used a parking lot at the former Texaco Research Center as a staging area. Chevron partnered with Main Lot Productions to donate to the Beacon School District’s STEM program.
